Drive in Style with New Buick Cascada Colors

2018 Buick Cascada

In recognition that Buick drivers are a diverse and vibrant bunch, Buick has decided to offer more paint options on its striking 2018 Buick Cascada.

We can all agree that the reign of black, white, and gray vehicles on the road has started to feel a bit dull. Rather than only offering the typical range of neutral paint colors, Buick has just unveiled three new exterior colors: Rioja Red Metallic, Dark Moon Blue Metallic, and Carrageen Metallic (an intriguing, dark green color with a hint of teal that’s exclusive to the Sport Touring model). This last color is particularly unique, as new green cars are particularly hard to come by nowadays.

In addition to these three new exterior colors, Buick is adding two new colors to their convertible tops: Sweet Mocha and Malbec.

We’ve been living in a black, white, and gray trend, and Buick knows it. Using color trending analysis, Buick designers have been keeping up with what colors customers want as well as what colors are in style and will be in style in the coming years. Buick smartly analyzes these color trends to make sure you and your car will stay on trend and driving in style.

Visit us at Danny Len Buick GMC to see the new colors yourself and fall in love with the 2018 Buick Cascada.

Smart and Time-Saving Holiday Travel Tips

2018 GMC Terrain Denali

The holiday season—from Thanksgiving to New Year’s—is a festive and lively time of the year, filled with laughter and loved ones. It is also notoriously known as the busiest time of the year to travel. All kinds of hiccups can happen in your travel plans, including bad weather conditions, traffic, and flight delays and cancellations. While you can’t account for everything when making your travel plans, an added bit of thoughtfulness and foresight can go a long way. Here are some holiday travel tips we at Danny Len Buick GMC recommend for you and your family.

Plan Ahead – This tip is threefold: start planning your holiday travels plans early (either to get the best prices or to have a good driving plan), anticipate the busiest traffic days (the busiest days of the year to travel on are the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and the Sunday following) and see if there is a way you can avoid them, and, if driving, know which routes will be the busiest and see if there are alternative routes that may be faster and have less traffic than the typically faster route.

Keep your devices close at hand – Both your smartphone and GPS system will help you in a pinch. Use your phone to quickly navigate the airport and have up-to-date flight information, as well as to form back-up plans if necessary. In the car, have a passenger use their phone to plan out quick and easy stops, stay up-to-date on the weather, and update family and friends on your ETA. You can also use the GPS on your phone or another GPS device in your car to stay up-to-date on traffic and be alerted when faster routes are available.

If you need a new car for the holidays, contact us at Danny Len Buick GMC.

New GMC Compact Crossover

GMC logoThe small crossover segment is growing with each passing year and it’s showing no signs of slowing down. The GMC lineup features a number of powerful crossovers and SUVs, stocked with premium materials and the latest technologies, but it’s missing a true small SUV. That’s why many enthusiasts expect a new GMC compact crossover is in the works.

The GMC Terrain currently stands as the smallest SUV in the premium brand’s lineup. That SUV is still pretty big, which means there’s space for a smaller model from the brand. It seems even the head of worldwide operations is expecting a smaller model to take its place as well.

“To me, there is more room for SUVs in the GMC stable,” said Duncan Aldred, head of GMC’s worldwide operations. “An obvious place for GMC to be if it expands is that small SUV segment.”

Past speculation placed a smaller GMC crossover set to take on the Jeep® Wrangler, but that likely won’t be the case. Enthusiasts are better off envisioning a more utility-driven Buick Encore instead. With the Buick Encore’s proven track record as the brand’s bestselling vehicle, a small GMC crossover is likely to take to the road sooner rather than later.

Our team at Danny Len Buick GMC can’t wait to see what the future holds for the GMC lineup.

How to Repair Your Car After Flood Damage

GMC Sierra 2500HDFlorida was struck with a severe hurricane that left buildings and cars significantly damaged. Fortunately, recovering after the storm isn’t impossible. Here are some tips on how to properly repair your car after flood damage.

Check the Damage

The first step to repairing your car after flood damage is to determine just how severe the damage is. If you find water droplets in the oil dipstick, for example, odds are your engine needs some work.

Modern vehicles feature a plethora of technologies compared to their predecessors. Unfortunately, that means a highly involved electrical system as well. Exercise caution when testing electrical components and features of the vehicle.

See What Insurance Will Cover

It’s important to get the ball rolling by contacting your insurance company as soon as possible. After you’ve made the call, take pictures of the damage. Make sure to get clear pictures of the interior, trunk, and engine.

Your insurance provider will decide to do one of two things depending on the damage: repair the car or replace it.

Find a New Car

If your insurance decides to replace your vehicle, it’s usually up to you to find a new one. Affordable prices are what we do best here at Danny Len Buick GMC. Stop in today to see how we can help you get into a new car. Our courteous and professional staff will be happy to walk through you the process.

Buicks in Cinema: A Classic Brand on the Silver Screen

Buick has remained a status symbol for many years, representing refinement and durability. That’s perhaps one reason the brand has been featured in several films over the years. From classics like Rain Man (1988) to more recent flicks like La La Land (2016), you’ll find several Buicks in cinema.

The Academy-Award winning film Rain Man in many ways revolves around the automotive world. Charlie (Tom Cruise) sells luxury cars for a living; he travels on the road with his autistic brother, Raymond (Dustin Hoffman); Charlie inherits his father’s car, an important gesture. The 1949 Buick Roadmaster convertible at the heart of Rain Man is more than just an inheritance—it’s one of the few things that tangibly links the estranged brothers to their past.

According to The News Wheel, you can also spot another Buick Roadmaster in Martin Scorsese’s The Departed (2006). The maroon-colored luxury car suits the mob boss Frank Costello (Jack Nicholson) in a way that no other car can. Perhaps because of the refinement of Buick models, they feature prominently in many other gangster flicks like The Untouchables (1987) and Road to Perdition (2002).

Finally, a Buick pops off the screen in the recent La La Land (2016), a film that creates a modern take on the classic musical genre. A 1982 Buick Riviera appears while Sebastian (Ryan Gosling) is stuck in traffic shortly before a musical number breaks out, and the car also features prominently whenever Sebastian arrives at the home of Mia (Emma Stone), as he honks the horn loudly.

Buicks are everywhere on the Silver Screen, but you can see them in person at Danny Len Buick GMC. Plan your test drive today.

5 Reasons Why Your Check Engine Light is On

check engine light Dashboard GMC Sierra

Few things in life are as cryptic as the dreaded “check engine light,” the glowing warning sign that pops up on our vehicle’s dashboard and could be any number of terrifying ailments – or just an issue with the car’s computer. Here are a few reasons why your car may be displaying its check engine light.

Oxygen Sensor

Your engine will use extra fuel and potentially damage your catalytic converter and spark plugs if you don’t replace a faulty O2 sensor, which measures the oxygen in your vehicle’s exhaust system.

Mass Airflow Sensor

This sensor measures the amount of air entering the engine and determines how much fuel to use. If this needs to be replaced, it could damage the oxygen sensor and catalytic converter.

Catalytic Converter

A malfunctioning catalytic converter can cause the check engine light to come on. Usually caused by neglected maintenance, damage to your catalytic converter results in more carbon monoxide emissions and poor fuel economy.

Spark Plugs

Your spark plugs may need to be replaced, or there could be an issue with your plug wires. This can cause reduced performance or clog your catalytic converter.

Gas Cap

If broken, missing, or loose, the check engine light may come on for a simple gas cap.

These are the top five most common reasons why your check engine light may flip on. Thankfully, most of them are an easy fix. If you need helping servicing your vehicle, stop by Danny Len Buick GMC.

7 Easy Ways to Clean Your Car

easy ways to clean your car

Spring has come and gone, but in case you missed the opportunity to spring clean your car, we at Danny Len Buick GMC have compiled seven easy ways to clean your car this summer.

Easy Ways to Clean Your Car: Interior

  1. Start with a trash bag and clear out everything from under the seats or in random nooks and crannies.
  2. Swap out your cabin air filter, especially if you suffer from allergies. (If you’re not sure how to do it, schedule an appointment with our service department, and we’ll be happy to help!)
  3. Take a paintbrush and toothbrush and scrub those hard-to-clean spots. Paintbrushes are good for the dust in the vents, but you’ll want to vacuum as you scrub so that the dust doesn’t just land somewhere else. Use the toothbrush to scrub at the difficult textures of your vinyl, which can collect dust and dirt.
  4. Use a carpet cleaner to clean your floor mats and your cloth seats.

Easy Ways to Clean Your Car: Exterior

  1. Use glass cleaner for the windshield and windows, and consider purchasing some Rain-X to apply afterward.
  2. Invest in products for cloudy headlights, and replace your windshield wipers if they are worn and leave streaks.
  3. Consider taking your car through a car wash once a month, or as necessary.

Check Out These Exciting 2018 Buick LaCrosse Updates

2018 Buick LaCrosse Updates

A number of 2018 Buick LaCrosse updates have been announced! The vehicle will be available here at Danny Len Buick GMC this fall. Make sure to come in for a test drive when it arrives, but until then, here’s some info on the new LaCrosse.

2018 Buick LaCrosse Updates

  • Buick is adding three new exterior colors for the 2018 LaCrosse: Dark Slate Metallic, Red Quartz Tintcoat, and Satin Steel Metallic.
  • The new 2018 LaCrosse will get eAssist light electrification, adding an electric motor to the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. Buick says this will boost city fuel efficiency by a whopping 19 percent. (The 2017 Buick LaCrosse’s standard engine manages an 18 MPG City rating*, so a 19 percent improvement could take it to more than 21 MPG in the city.)
  • That motor will get its power from a 24-cell air-cooled 0.45 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. This means the new LaCrosse will boast features like regenerative braking, torque-assisted launch, and super smooth Stop/Start functionality.
  • In other performance news, LaCrosse models that instead get their motivation from the 3.6-liter V6 will now be available with a nine-speed automatic gearbox.
  • Buick is adding all-wheel drive to the Essence trim level.

Keep following along with us at Danny Len Buick GMC for more information.
