Buick Shows Off the Electra EV Concept

With its newest concept vehicle, Buick simultaneously welcomes the future to the present while harkening to the automaker’s illustrious history. The new Electra concept shows off Buick’s most advanced connectivity tech inside of a space-age body that is powered by an all-electric motor.

Buick’s brand-new Electra concept, which was unveiled early this fall in China, is not the brand’s first use of the “Electra” moniker. The original Electra was a premium full-size sedan that played a prominent part in the automotive landscape for over three decades.

The Electra concept is powered by an Ultium battery that propels the twin electric motors to produce 583 horsepower. The sporty sedan is fast enough to travel from 0–60 mph in just 4.3 seconds, and it has an all-electric range of 410 miles.

The gorgeous Electra is certainly more stylish than most EVs thanks to a bevy of premium aesthetic choices like a wraparound center display, ambient lights, and rose gold trim that are intended to draw comparisons to spacecraft. Per Molly Peck, the Executive Director of Buick Sales and Marketing for SAIC-GM, “the Electra represents the brand’s ambition to bring together beautiful styling and intelligent connectivity in the new era of zero emissions.”

While Buick doesn’t have any EVs stateside yet, you can shop the current lineup of luxury SUVs right here at Danny Len Buick in Mt. Dora, Fl.

Everything We Know About the GMC Hummer EV

GMC recently announced that the highly-anticipated release of the Hummer EV will come in fall 2020. Here’s a quick look at what we already know about the new all-electric GMC Hummer.

The new Hummer EV will run solely off electricity, shedding its gas-guzzler image thanks to all-new Ultium battery technology and charging capabilities, which have been described as “super-fast.”

Don’t let the all-electric power of the new GMC Hummer EV fool you; it will still pack a serious punch with a jaw-dropping 1,000 horsepower rating to go along with 11,500 lb-ft of wheel torque. It will only take three seconds for the Hummer EV to go from 0-60 mph.

The GMC Hummer EV will come available as either a truck or an SUV, enabling you to pick the style that best fits your lifestyle.

Removable roof panels allow for open-air driving so you can enjoy the Mt. Dora weather from the comfort of your Hummer EV. GMC also teased at an “open-air infinity roof” that we can’t wait to get a closer look at.

New technologies will adorn the new Hummer EV.  “Ultra-Vision Cameras” and new settings like “Adrenaline Mode” and “Crab Mode” will be available upon its release, and Super Cruise — a hands-free driving feature that has so far only appeared on select Cadillacs — will solidify the Hummer EV as the powerhouse of the future.

Production of the 2021 Buick Encore is Underway

If you are a big fan of Buick’s lineup of SUVs, there’s plenty to be excited about. Most recently, we learned that production on the 2021 Buick Encore is already underway.

This might come as a relief if you’ve been following reports over the last few months. Early reports suggested that the Buick Encore GX was meant to serve as a replacement of sorts for the traditional Encore. In addition to the Encore GX, the space left empty by the absence of the Encore would be filled by a second larger SUV model.

Fortunately, the Buick Encore has continued to be one of the best-selling models in the automaker’s lineup. As such, Buick has no plans to replace the original Encore in the foreseeable future.

The 2021 Encore is currently being built at the Bupyeong production plant in South Korea. Reports suggest that this version of the Encore will only differ slightly from its 2020 predecessor, meaning if you were a fan of the Encore before, you’ll find plenty to love with this version.

Of course, if you can’t wait until the official release of the 2021 Buick Encore to get behind the wheel of this luxury SUV, you can always purchase a 2020 Encore model here at Danny Len Buick GMC.

Buick reveals the 2021 Envision’s interior

Many upgrades have been made to the interior of the 2021 Buick Envision. The new all-new model will be released in the Chinese market in the fall before making its way to America early next year.

Clean and cool

The trend for a while was to make dashboards look like the cockpit of airplanes, with numerous dials and controls. Buick minimized that cluttered appearance in the new Envision by dividing the space and moving some controls to the infotainment touch screen. The shift knob has been replaced by push buttons, which gives the dash a cleaner, more sophisticated look.

Wide open feel

A panoramic sunroof gives the interior an expansive feel while two-tone, contrast-stitched leather seating add a sense of richness. Numerous available storage compartments help control clutter, and a negative-ion air purification system provides fresh, clean-smelling air to the interior of the vehicle.

Accessible Tech

While you enjoy the ambiance, you’ll also appreciate the Bose® premium surround sound system, 4G LTE Wi-Fi® hotspot, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, and numerous charging options. A head-up display keeps the will keep you informed of speed, fuel use and other important information without having to take your eyes off the road.

We can’t wait to see you here at Danny Len Buick GMC next year for the launch of the all-new 2021 Buick Envision

GMC is one of the longest-lasting brands on the road

More than 15.8 million vehicles were evaluated in a recent iSeeCars.com survey to determine which models are the longest-lasting models still on the road. One of the brands left standing after the rigorous testing process was GMC. GMC finished third out of all brands, with 1.4 percent of all GMC vehicles reaching 200,000 miles or more.

The GMC Yukon XL was one of those models, and was actually found to be the most likely to be able to reach 300,000 miles. On top of incredible reliability and an impressive ability to last for nearly a quarter of a million miles, the Yukon delivers about 39.3 cubic feet available behind the third row, making it a perfect option for road trips when you need space for luggage.

The GMC Sierra 1500 and GMC Canyon were also named to the list of long-lasting GMC vehicles. The Sierra 1500 is available in five different trim levels, enabling you to pick one that best suits your needs. It features a 6.2-liter V8 engine or an available 3.0-liter Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine to deliver some extra power.

The GMC Canyon is available in four trim levels, and is capable of towing up to 7,700 pounds when it has the right equipment. To give it a necessary blend of efficiency and power, the Canyon earns an EPA-estimated fuel efficiency rating of 30 mpg on the highway.*

The CarbonPro™ Bed Can Withstand Hurricane Forces

The CarbonPro™ Bed | Danny Len Buick GMC | Mount Dora, FL

The GMC CarbonPro™ bed is the world’s first carbon-fiber composite truck bed, delivering best-in-class protection against corrosion, dents, and scratches. GMC knew that rigorous testing was the only way to create a bed of such quality, which is why they put it up against projectiles flying at Category One hurricane-force speeds.

The carbon-fiber makeup of the CarbonPro™ bed replaces the rolled steel used on traditional trucks. Naturally, it stood up magnificently against hurricane-force projectile testing. When compared to competitors, the GMC-exclusive bed demonstrated greater rebound efficiency, meaning the objects bounced right off instead of denting the bed.

Testing also included dropping 1,800-pound gravel loads, 450-pound water-filled steel drums, and cinder blocks onto the space-age bed. It was its exceptional performance in these tests that inspired GMC engineers to up the difficulty level with the Category 1 hurricane-force projectiles.

The benefits of the CarbonPro™ bed are numerous. The carbon-fiber composite is lighter than the typical steel found in truck beds, but it still manages to increase payload capacity from the traditional ones. An extra cubic foot of cargo space is possible thanks to the highly formable material, and indentations in the floor are built for the wheels of your dirt and street bikes.

If you want a truck that can work, play, and do everything in between, you want a GMC equipped with the state-of-the-art CarbonPro™ bed. To learn more, chat with one of our experts at Danny Len Buick GMC.

GMC introduces the Hummer EV

After nine years, the beloved Hummer is back, but not in the way you may have expected. Rather than the gas-guzzling powerhouse of yesteryear, the newest edition is powered exclusively by an electric motor. So, without further ado, welcome to the Hummer EV.

What little we know about the Hummer EV is that’s meant to be as capable off the road as on it, and with GMC’s recent promise a rugged AT4 trim from every vehicle in its lineup, there very well may be a nostalgia-inducing SUV-type trim of the Hummer EV as well as the base “pickup” model. In terms of appearance, details are sparse, as the only image available is the teaser image released ahead of the year’s biggest football game – depicting a six-slat grille with an illuminated “HUMMER” emblazoned on the front.

Though the new Hummer EV won’t have the V8 gas engine fans have grown to expect from the brand, GMC promises the Hummer EV should be able to rave from 0-60 miles per hour in around 3.0 seconds, making it a rival to almost any sports car on the market. Though GMC has been somewhat hush-hush about the revolutionary vehicle, the promise of off-road capabilities means there’s likely to be an all-wheel-drive system and electric motors for both the front and rear axles.

The Hummer EV will be built at GM’s Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant, and is expected to go on sale in the fall of 2021, likely for the 2022 model year. We can’t wait to see you right here at Danny Len Buick GMC when the groundbreaking Hummer EV finally hits the road.

Buick had the most seen car commercial of 2019

In 2019, the automotive industry spent more money on television advertisements than any other sector, meaning that viewers saw commercials for new vehicles more than any other product. However, Buick’s reach stood head and shoulders above the competition as the luxury brand had the most seen car commercial of the year.

The ad in question is called “Mistaken Identity.” It showcased the whole lineup of modern Buicks. The commercial, which features a song called “It’s Alright” by electronic duo Matt and Kim, brought in a massive 5.7 billion TV ad impressions.

Among the many vehicles pictured in the spot were the new Buick Regal GS and Regal TourX. These two models took the place of the previous Buick Regal, which served as a luxury mid-size sedan. In the 2018 model year, the Regal split into the GS, a sleek sportback with a fun performance, and the TourX, a luxurious and adventurous wagon.

The heavily-viewed ad highlights the exciting new design philosophy of Buick and portrays the versatility of the automaker’s lineup. In the ad, people with all different lifestyles keep mixing up which Buick is theirs — surfers, a husband and wife, a valet. No matter which car or SUV they have, their Buick shows off the sleek, sophisticated design that’s consistent in all current models.

As good as “mistaken Identity” is, the best way to see what Buick is all about is to get behind the wheel right here at Danny Len Buick GMC.
