GMC Hummer EV Features a Clever Easter Egg

Everyone is eagerly waiting for the all-new 2022 GMC Hummer EV, the world’s first all-electric supertruck designed for off-road capabilities. To top off the excitement, the GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 contains a special Easter egg inside the cabin.

The GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 is built for high-quality audio, with a standard Bose 14-speaker audio system and Electric Vehicle Sound Enhancement. When you look closely at the speakers, you can find a topographical map of the Sea of Tranquility etched on the grille. The Apollo 11 Lunar Module landed at the Sea of Tranquility in 1969 when Neil Armstrong first set foot on the moon. The GMC Hummer EV design evokes a futuristic vibe that makes this historical Easter egg that much more fitting.

The nod to space continues with the Hummer EV cabin’s color scheme, Lunar Horizon, which incorporates black, white, and gray materials. Notably, GM has extensive experience with electric power that has helped with the creation of the Hummer EV. GM designed the Lunar Roving Vehicle, an electric moon rover used in later Apollo missions. The GMC Hummer EV utilizes battery power just like the Lunar Roving Vehicle, achieving more than 350 miles of driving range and up to 1,000 horsepower and 11,500 lb-ft of torque.*
