If you use an Android phone and drive a new 2016 Buick or GMC, the moment you’ve been waiting for is finally here. Buick and GMC models equipped with an eight-inch IntelliLink system are now eligible for a free Android Auto upgrade.

This upgrade, which we can do right here at Danny Len Buick GMC, is available for the 2016 Buick Regal and LaCrosse along with the 2016 GMC Canyon, Sierra, and Yukon. The Android Auto upgrade will further enhance the IntelliLink system, which already came standard with Apple CarPlay.

“Providing Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility ushers in a new era of staying connected in a convenient manner,” said Duncan Aldred, U.S. vice president, Buick and GMC, in a statement.

With both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, drivers can connect their smartphone to their car for even easier access to navigation, messaging, music, news updates, and more. Drivers will be able to use simple voice commands without having to take their eyes off the road or hands off the wheel.

This technology just further enhances the Buick and GMC lineup. Every Buick and many GMC models come with OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi that allows up to seven devices to connect at once for fast online streaming.
